The Basics First:

Student: Nik Werenfels  Collaborators: Silvan Oestere  Cooperation with: Prof. Annette Spiro

Here Werenfels uses simple wood joints as pictured to produce a self supported structural system.

Parametric Joinery

Despite being derived from a mesh this work extracts vertex joints using script.  The end result is organizing the structural members so that connections are created clearly.
