Geodesic Applications

While researching the applications of geodesics  in architecture I came across some earlier uses for the geodesic shells. A geodesic airframe is a construction type used for airframes of aircraft developed by a British aeronautical engineer. It takes a space frame formed by spirally crossing load-bearing members. Two geodesic arcs intersect on a curving surface [the fuselage] in such a way that the load on each is cancelled out.
